Once I had my children, in the 80s I used to be pleased to have a baby monitor. This included placing the listening system in baby’s room and then trailing wires in every single place to connect with the other machine that was in the lounge. Once I had to go and do the laundry, for example, I was very fast so that I hopefully would not miss a noise, because it was not possible for me to hear in the laundry room when the system was in the living room. Wires simply stopped me going via the trouble of changing the place of the newborn monitor. After all, every part worked out and all my babies turned out into great adults I am very proud of.
